Gavin Thornton

Makerspace Program Coordinator

As the Moody Makerspace Program Coordinator, Gavin Thornton supports the operation of the Makerspace’s workshops and fabrication resources, assists students with creative and technical projects, and develops and leads classes and educational programming. Thornton brings more than a decade of fabrication experience spanning woodworking, metalworking, CAD, additive manufacturing, electronics, and digital fabrication.

Prior to joining the Moody, Thornton served as the Innovation Lab Coordinator at Lone Star College, where he managed a multidisciplinary makerspace supporting students, faculty, and community members. His work included overseeing a wide range of fabrication equipment, supporting projects across multiple disciplines, and developing resources and programming to help users learn and apply new technologies.
