Emalie V. Thok
Department Administrator
Emalie V. Thok is the Moody Center for the Arts part-time Department Administrator and previously worked at the Rice University Wiess School of Natural Sciences and Harvard University Dance Center. She is an art and architecture docent at Asia Society Texas Center and served since its founding year on the Houston Museum of Natural Science Catalysts Steering Committee. Thok also taught undergraduate weather and climate labs and was a science museum youth educator. As a dancer and choreographer, she has taught and performed in dance projects with cultural organizations such as the Harvard Art Museums and Dance Center collaboration, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Houston Egyptian Festival, Asia Society Texas Center, and the Harvard Asian American Dance Troupe. She has an MA from Teachers College, Columbia University Graduate School of Education, Health, and Psychology, where she researched online museum education for Cambodian American healing. She is researching developing dance digital media to enhance science museum engagement with the Harvard Museum Studies Graduate Program.
