Art in the Face of the Climate Crisis – responses from the Gulf Coast

Join us for this timely discussion between Ayanna Jolivet Mccloud, Anna Mayer, and Eric Schnell about how artists and art professionals can proactively engage with urgent environmental issues. The event is presented by Artadia and co-hosted by the Moody Center for the Arts. 

Recent record-breaking natural disasters, including Hurricanes Beryl and Helene and the LA wildfires, have highlighted the urgent need for artists and creative practitioners to engage with the climate crisis and consider disaster preparedness. This panel discussion, held in conjunction with the Moody’s exhibition Breath(e): Toward Climate and Social Justice, brings together different voices from the creative community in Houston and the Gulf Coast region whose work directly responds to the challenges of climate change and environmental justice.
