Engage with Platform: Submission

We invite you to follow as many different instructions as you desire. Send us your replies and/or snapshots of your drawings using the form on the page or via email to platform@rice.edu by May 30th. Your content will then be used for the creation of a poem by Houston-based poet and activist Deborah D.E.E.P. Mouton who will perform live on the Moody's Instagram account on June 6 at 2:00 p.m.

1. In 2030, a committee assembles to make an announcement. What is their announcement? Write down their announcement using only words that are less than seven letters long. For example, “a better future awaits us”.

4. Look at a picture of the banners. Write down a question using any of the words on the banner. Ask this question to yourself, your partner, your child, or your roommate. Write down the question and the response.

5. What is fiction?: Find something with “text” nearby. This can be the title of a book on your shelf, lettering on your clothing, a text message on your phone. Find twelve words. Create your fiction.
