Ron Saenz, the Makerspace Program Coordinator, joined the Moody after 23 years as a software developer. In his current role, Saenz helps Rice students and faculty realize fabrication projects by training them to use Makerspace resources including 3D printers, laser cutters, and engraving tools. Saenz holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a Minor in English from the University of Texas and previously served as a Petty Officer 3rd Class in US Coast Guard Reserves stationed at Small Boat Station Point Isabel.
