On April 14th, guests joined us for a very special evening of live performances that activated several of the music-based artworks in the exhibition, Soundwaves: Experimental Strategies in Art + Music. 

Headlining this multidisciplinary event, artist Raven Chacon led musicians with the Shepherd School of Music and Houston-based Nameless Sound in an outdoor performance of his graphic score American Ledger No. 1. The program continued with a procession to the exhibition galleries led by dancer Joseph Stevens, wearing Nevin Aladag's Body Instruments where Shepherd School student Nick Finley performed on Aladag's Resonator Percussion. Completing the music-filled evening was punk guitarist Mad Whit, activating Naama Tsabar's Transitions.
