Join us for a full day of free family programming to inaugurate the new site-specific sculpture Repeater by Brooklyn-based artist David Scanavino.

The day includes:

12:00-2:30 pm: A set by DJ Flash Gordon Parks and food trucks

2:30-3:00 pm: Presentation by the artist, David Scanavino

3:00-4:30 pm: Spoken word performance by Houston’s own Outspoken Bean, poets from Meta-Four Houston

4:30-6:00 pm: Abstract Animation Film Fest hosted by the non-profit Aurora Picture Show in the Lois Chiles Studio Theater

Repeater is an immersive sculpture made of commonly available industrial tiles that create pathways that invite people to move in and around the geometric artwork. The design playfully skews the shape of the floor and sends the work up the walls of the Central Gallery to a height of 24 feet.

Throughout the summer, in the spirit of collaboration that defines the Moody, local cultural groups will be invited to perform in and around the sculpture.
