Closing Celebration for "Narrative Threads"

See the exhibition for the first time or visit one last time with a friend! Saturday, May 13 is the last day to enjoy Narrative Threads: Fiber Art Today. Guests will also be able to enjoy $5 parking!
From 2 pm to 5 pm, enjoy an afternoon of treats, hands-on activities, and a special screening of the film, Yarn. Schedule below.
Hands-On Activities
2 pm - 4:45 pm | Flex Space
Led by the Contemporary Handweavers of Houston and the Quilt Guild of Greater Houston, guests will be able to:
- Weave a bookmark or bracelet
- Create a greeting card with fabric
- Learn about the process of weaving, spinning, and quilting
- Special demonstrations on a loom and spinning wheel
A Screening of Yarn (2016)
2 pm and 3:30 pm | Lois Chiles Studio Theater
A screening of Yarn (2016), a colorful documentary directed by the Icelandic filmmaker Una Lorenzen featuring the vibrant range of fiber-based practices as seen through the lens of artists, designers, and performers.
