Gallery Guides are Rice undergraduate and graduate students who, as paid docents, will safeguard the art on view, as well as engage visitors in conversation about it. The Student Production and Technical Assistant will report to the Moody Center for the Arts Director of Technical Services and assist in the production of live events at the Moody. Students with an interest in theater, production, A/V, sound and lighting, and/or live events are encouraged to apply.

The Curatorial Intern will assist the Executive Director and Curator with research and development for current and upcoming exhibitions at the Moody, as well as public art projects. Tasks may include researching artists, artworks and exhibition histories, compiling information and materials about the artists involved in the exhibitions, drafting correspondence to potential lenders, drafting materials for grant applications, maintaining detailed checklists, completing loan forms, entering data into the collections database, and other general requests.  

The aim of this position is to support the Moody’s efforts to broaden its impact by sharing relevant communication with constituents, identifying opportunities to inform alternative media, and collecting feedback from visitors to better inform an inclusive communication strategy. Tasks may include posting events to relevant websites, researching and contacting special interest groups and media outlets, compiling media clippings, posting to social media, distributing material, archiving, and aggregating feedback.
